The Fold is a secret society of magicians. Masters of elemental forces. Weaver of reality. Twisters of the veil. The Fold took you in. Taught you the ways of magic. Now you want out.

The Fold won't take kindly to it. Secrets don't stay secret if just anyone can up and leave. They'll want to convince you to give up, but stopping you one way or another is their priority.

The House is the headquarters of the Fold, it's where you were trained. Large and labyrinthian, not everything always appears where you thought it was last. Make it from the House and you can disappear into the wider world. You can’t just walk out. Alarms are blaring. The Fold knows. The House is on high alert.

Out of the Fold is a GMless card-based magical thriller storytelling game for 2-5 players. You play magicians hatching a escape plan to make it out of the Fold, the secret society of magicians who trained you. 

Build poker hands to cast spells. Flashback to the events that set you on this course. Run for your life and don’t slow down.

Designed for one-shot, zero-prep play you'll build the setting of the games, use card pulls to determine the obstacles you face and cast spells by building poker hands as a team. You’ll intercut the action with flashback scenes, filling in details on how you came to know and trust each other.
